That Single Tear

That single tear,
Rolling down your cheek
Hurt more than your words,
And a thousand other things.
It said to me,
All the things that you couldn’t
It showed me,
All the things you wouldn’t.

That single tear,
Tore me down to pieces
And then gave me the strength
To never let it defeat us.
So I held on,
For that single tear
And on it I have built
